TOWNSHIP ENERGY AGGREGATION PROGRAM UPDATE

TOWNSHIP ENERGY AGGREGATION PROGRAM UPDATE

In September, the Monroe Township Council approved a contract with TriEagle Energy to provide residents with the opportunity to save money on their monthly electric bills in Round 2 of the Township’s Energy Aggregation Program. Under the contract, TriEagle will provide electric supply for $.08992 per KWH for a two year term effective December 1, 2015. This represents an annual savings of 12% to the average residential customer compared to the current JCP&L tariff rate.

Recently, all customers currently being served by JCP&L or Con Edison Solutions, the contractor in Round 1 of the program, received a letter from JCP&L that they “selected” TriEagle Energy as their new third party supplier. The law provides that residents who are being served by JCP&L or Con Edison are automatically switched to the new provider, TriEagle Energy unless you “opt out” of the program.

If a resident has a separate third party supplier and is interested in participating in the Township’s program, they must contact their current supplier to end that service, and then call TriEagle at 877-933-2453 to enroll in the Township program.

Please remember that no matter what third party supplier you choose, JCP&L will always continue to be responsible for meter reading, billing, and most important, for problems such as power outages.
