What do I need to bring with me to the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Agency to get a new driver's license?
There is no MVC office in Monroe. The closest one to Monroe is in South Brunswick.

You need to have six points worth of documentation with you.
Residents are required to show at least one four-point document and one three-, two- or one-point document.
- Four-point documents include: a birth certificate with a raised seal; a passport; a certificate of naturalization; a current NJ digital drivers license; a valid military ID card; a certificate of citizenship or U.S. adoption papers.
- Three-point documents include: marriage, domestic partnership or civil union certificate; an order or decree of divorce; and court ordered legal name changes.
- Two-point documents include: a school or college ID card with transcript; a valid federal, state or local government employee card; US military discharge papers; or an FAA Pilot's license.
- One-point documents include: a non-digital NJ drivers license, a Social Security card, a bank statement, high school or college diploma, state professional license among others.
In addition, residents also need to bring proof of address including a credit card or utility bill from the past month, a checking or savings account statement, a property tax bill, or any documentation sent to you from the IRS.
