“Proactive closures are one of the proven ways to help curtail the spread of the Coronavirus in our community,” said Mayor Tamburro.  “These closures are a responsible and necessary way to stop large and small gatherings while limiting close contact between residents and service professionals in the community.”

PRESIDENT TRUMP ANNOUNCES GUIDELINES

Guidance from the office of the President of the United States yesterday stressed the importance of staying home and keeping a safe social distance from others.

“It’s important for the young and healthy people to understand that while they may experience milder symptoms, they can easily spread this virus, and they will spread it indeed, putting countless others in harm’s way,” said President Trump.  “We especially worry about our senior citizens.  Avoid gathering in groups of more than 10 people.  Avoid discretionary travel.”

He declared that every American can help slow the virus’ spread and keep the most high-risk populations safe by following these steps:

  1. Listen to and follow the directions of yourstate and local authorities.
  2. If you feel sick, stay home. Do not go to work. Contact your medical provider.
  3. If your children are sick, keep them at home. Contact your medical provider.
  4. If someone in your household has tested positive for the Coronavirus, keep the entire household at home.
  5. If you are an older American, stay home and away from other people.
  6. If you are a person with a serious underlying health condition—such as a significant heart or lung problem—stay home and away from other people.
