A Message from the Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission regulates the planning and care of ornamental trees and shrubbery within the Right of Way (R.O.W.) and parks in the Township. The Commission also has a proactive pruning, removal, and planting program.
Developers are required to receive permission before cutting down trees on future developments. The landscape plans from developers are reviewed, and recommendations are made by the Shade Tree Commission.
The commission offers expert advice on all facets of arboriculture. The Commission also will remove or require the removal of any tree deemed dangerous to public safety.

TREE REMOVAL REMINDER:
Municipal Code Book Chapter 97: Tree Preservation
The township would like to remind you that a tree removal permit is required to remove any tree on a homeowner’s property.
The tree removal application can be found here: Shade Tree Removal Permit
Fee is $35.00 for the first 5 trees. Payment by check only should be made payable to Township of Monroe.
Applications may be placed in the white tax collection drop box. Please place application, copy of survey and payment in an envelope addressed to Pamela Broskie.
