11 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN MONROE TOWNSHIP 2,316 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN NEW JERSEY – 13,386 TOTAL
LATEST STATE/COUNTY UPDATES: The latest statistics related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus from Governor Murphy’s office this afternoon includes 2,316 new positive test results in New Jersey for a statewide total of 13,386. There are 21 new reported deaths for a total of 161. Middlesex Countyreports 130 new cases for a total of 938 positive cases. Monroe Townshiphas been notified of 11 new cases, 3 of which are in the hospital and the remainder are self-quarantined at home. Monroe now has a total of 67 positive cases. The new cases are:

MESSAGE FROM DR. ANOTHNY FAUCI, NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH: The coronavirus outbreak could kill 100,000 to 200,000 Americans, the U.S. government’s top infectious disease expert warned on Sunday, as authorities urged people in and around the nation’s deadliest hot spot, New York City, to limit their travel to contain the scourge. Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, made the dire prediction this morning adding that millions in the U.S. could become infected.
MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY: “The stay-at-home order is still in effect and social distancing is key. If you don’t have to be out, we need you to STAY IN,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “We're still way short on medical supplies, even with shipment from national stockpile. REMINDER: TESTING TUESDAY, MARCH 31: COVID-19 DRIVE-THRU TESTING SITE IN MONROE TWP at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road: The facility will serve pre-registered patients only from 9am – 1pm and drive-up patients from 1pm – 3:30pm. Testing will continue on Tuesday, March 31. Pre-register at www.myinstadocmonroe.comor call 609-207-3220 to speak with a medical professional. Additionally, PNC Arts Center in Holmdel will open for testing at 8am on Monday, March 30. The PNC Arts Center will have 500 tests.
SEEKING PPE EQUIPMENT FROM ALL SOURCES: Governor Murphy announced that following conversations with President Trump, we received a critical shipment of PPE from the federal stockpile including N95 masks, medical beds, gloves and coveralls. If you are a local or regional business who has any type of PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE), like surgical masks, gowns, gloves or N95 masks, please contact the Monroe Office of Emergency Management at (732)521-0222; we will collect your donation. This might be from a janitorial business, nail or hair salon, warehouses, building trades, dentist office, marina, or painting contractor. Homemade masks are also important, if you have sewn masks, please contact the OEM for pickup.
GOVERNOR RECRUITING MEDICAL PERSONEL: Governor Murphy put out a call today for volunteers with qualified medical training and experience who wish to join the fight against COVID-19. Desired volunteers include retired nurses or doctors, nursing and medical students, EMTs and former members of the Armed Services’ medical corps. Interested parties should sign-up at www.covid19.nj.gov/volunteer.
