STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:
- As of 10:30 p.m. last night, 7,240 residents hospitalized, 1,990 individuals in either critical or intensive care.73% of ICU patients are on ventilators.Ventilator use had a considerable one-day drop to 1,462. That is the lowest it has been since April 5th.
- There are 446 long-term care facilities reporting at least one case of COVID-19.Total of 13,769 cases have been reported from these facilities.
- Of the nearly 100,000 total cases reported since our first positive case on March 4th, roughly 46,000 of these individuals have now exited the two-week incubation window.
- Health officials have said New Jersey needs to administer 20,000 to 30,000 tests a day to appropriately get a handle on the outbreak and reopen the state, dwarfing the 7,000 to 9,000 currently being administered.
MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY: We continue to see the curve of new COVID-19 cases remain significantly flat, even with today’s slight uptick in cases. As we map the outbreak across the state, we continue to see a slowing in the rate of spread. As the total cases near 100,000, it is important to note that thousands have recovered. The latest numbers show New Jersey residents should prepare for the near-lockdown restrictions to continue. We can’t ease up one bit on our social distancing. We need to see more progress and more slowing.
