COVID-19 Cases received Monday, June 1: 

New positive cases 3:  44, female; 37, male, 56, male

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 2,372 patients being treated for COVID-19; Field Medical Stations reported 21 patients.
  • 151 new hospitalizations and 102 patients were discharged from the hospital yesterday.
  • 639 patients in either critical or intensive care; 72% of critical care patients on ventilators; 459 ventilators currently in use – under 500 for the fourth consecutive day.
  • The daily positivity rate for tests from May 29 was 3.6 percent – from roughly 29,000 recorded samples.
  • The rate by which COVID-19 spread across NJ through each infected person had dropped from 5:1 in March to 1:1 today Governor Murphy announced. “Social distancing works. Wearing a face covering works,” he said.
  • According to the NJDOH, symptoms of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children are: fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, neck pain, rash, bloodshot eyes.

‘STAGE 1’ OF NJ COVID-19 RECOVERY PLAN UNDERWAY; STAGE 2 TO BEGIN JUNE 15; STAGE 3 TIMING DEPENDENT ON STAGE 2 PROGRESS:  New Jersey will move to ‘Stage 2’ of its coronavirus reopening plan on June 15.  There’s no set timetable for ‘Stage 3’ and Governor Murphy warned that any major resurgence in the outbreak could cause the state to reverse course.  Read the full NJ.com article here.
