STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:  

  • NJ hospitals currently have 262 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 92 patients in either critical or intensive care; 32 ventilators in use; 34% on ventilators.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from August 15 was 1.78%.Rate of transmission: 1.06

DPW RESUMES NORMAL BRUSH PICK-UP PROCEDURES:  While most of the clean-up from Tropical Storm Isaias is complete, DPW crews are still breaking down some of the larger debris that remains.  The department has resumed normal brush pick-up procedures. Please bind any brush and place it by the curb to be picked-up.  The DPW yard, located at 76 Gravel Hill Spotswood Road, is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8 am - 2:45 pm and Saturday 8 am - 11:30 am.  Call 732-656-4575 with any questions.

MAYOR CALLS ON JCP&L TO REIMBURSE RESIDENTS FOR FOOD AND MEDICINE:  Mayor Tamburro issued a letter to the Board of Public Utilities on Wednesday demanding that JCP&L immediately implement a reimbursement program similar to PSE&G for the replacement of food and medicine spoiled during the power outages after Tropical Storm Isaias.  Visit undefined to view the letter.    

8201DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT – TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 8PM:  Monroe Township Recreation is hosting another Drive-In Movie night featuring Disney Pixar’s “Onward” on Tuesday, August 25 at 8pm in Thompson Park.  The parking lot off Fir Drive will open at 7:15pm.  Pre-registration required via Community Pass.  Masks are required for bathroom use. 200-car limit so register early!!
