 New COVID-19 Cases from September 4 – 9th:  19F, 21M, 21M, 79M

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 227 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 82 patients in intensive care; 33 ventilators in use.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from September 4 was 1.83%. Rate of transmission 1.1.
  • As of Tuesday, September 8, travelers to NJ from 35 states and territories are advised to observe a 14-day self-quarantine period. Visit Covid19.nj.gov for updates.

9103FLU SHOTS CRUTIAL TO PREVENT COVID & FLU “TWINDEMIC”:  The looming possibility of a “twindemic” of the seasonal flu overlapping with a second wave of the coronavirus has galvanized New Jersey’s doctors and public health officials to push harder this year to boost the number of people getting flu shots.  CVS, Walgreens and Stop & Shop, as well as doctors’ offices and clinics throughout New Jersey, have already begun giving the shots. SENIOR CENTER OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING – WEEK 2:  Pre-registration for “week two” of outdoor 9102programming at the Senior Center will begin Monday, September 14 at 9am by Community Pass or by phone – limit two programs per Senior Center member.  Fifty-person max capacity per program.  Current Senior Center members only.   Masks required at all times.  Call 609-448-7140 to register or for information.

9101NJ LAUNCHES ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION:  New Jersey’s Division of Elections this week launched the state’s first online voter registration tool allowing registering voters to provide their information electronically. Previously, those registering to vote needed to print, sign, and mail a registration form. Voters can find the tool by selecting “Register to Vote!” on the Division of Elections website at elections.nj.gov.
