There’s Still Time to Sign Up for Monroe’s Holiday Car Parade

Celebrate the Holidays with Your Neighbors on December 3

MONROE TOWNSHIP – November 30, 2020 – All will agree it has been a difficult year. And that is all the reason why your family should join the township’s holiday car parade, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3.

Detailed routes will be emailed to registered participants. Join this free event at https://register.communitypass.net/monroetownship or call the Recreation Department at 732-723-5000 to reserve your slot.

Participants will meet at Daniel Ryan Field on North State Home Road at 6:30 p.m., with the parade beginning at 7 p.m. It will take about 30 minutes to wind through town and spread holiday cheer with, of course, Santa joining in the ride.

The parade will end at the Monroe Community Center, 120 Monmouth Road, for the annual tree lighting that officially launches the holiday season in the township.

“We are hoping everyone can get really creative and show their holiday spirit by decorating their cars,” said Mayor Gerald W. Tamburro. “This is the perfect time for our community come together, safely, and enjoy the camaraderie. We have been apart far too long; I truly hope everyone comes out for a long-awaited night of fun.”

Township officials note that strict social distancing will be enforced, although everyone is encouraged to honk loudly and often.
