The NJ Department of Health, through CVS and Walgreens, this week began vaccinating residents and staff at long-term care facilities across the state, including Monroe Township.  Pictured above: Rosaria Crivello, 88, a resident at Monroe Village Point Rehab center, received her COVID-19 vaccine as part of Phase 1A of the state’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program that will continue over the next month.

17214NJ LAUNCHES STATE-WIDE VACCINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM (NJVSS):  New Jersey is rolling-out COVID-19 vaccines in a phased approach and has launched the NJVSS system.  The site allows people to pre-register even if you are not currently eligible.  You will be asked questions to determine when you are eligible to receive a vaccination.  Currently, the state is only vaccinating those classified as Phase 1A. CURRENT STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • 5,028 new COVID-19 positive cases in NJ reported January 6.
  • 3,744 COVID-19 patients in NJ hospitals as of January 5.
  • 668 individuals in critical care; 68% on ventilators; 456 in use.
  • Daily percent positivity for January 6: 14.96%.
  • Transmission rate: .96
  • “NJ will not wait for everyone in one phase of COVID vaccine to be vaccinated before opening up vaccination to the next phase,” said NJDOH Commissioner, Judith Persichilli.
