MONROE TOWNSHIP SENIOR CENTER NAMED AS ONE OF MIDDLESEX COUNTY’S FIVE REGIONAL VACCINATION CENTERS TO OPEN IN THE COMING WEEKS: OPENING DATE IS DEPENDENT ON VACCINE AVAILABILITY – NOT YET OPEN
Monroe Township OEM officials received word today that the Senior Center has been designated as one of five future regional vaccination centers operating through the Middlesex County Board of Health.
The site is not yet open. The county cannot open this location for vaccinations until vaccine shots are allocated to the site.
Township officials are allocating all necessary resources so the site can open as soon as vaccines become available. Information will be shared as it is received.
WHO IS ABLE TO GET THE VACCINE RIGHT NOW?
Healthcare workers, sworn first responders (police & fire), Long Term Care residents and staff.
Individuals at High Risk –
- Individuals aged 65 and older
- Individuals ages 16-64 with medical conditions that increase the risk of severe illness from the virus. These conditions include Cancer, Chronic kidney disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Down Syndrome, Heart conditions, Obesity, Severe Obesity, Sickle cell disease, Smoking, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, immunosuppressed and solid organ transplants.
HOW DO I REGISTER ON THE STATE WEBSITE?
Register on the NJ State Website https://covidvaccine.nj.gov. You will receive a return email that CONFIRMS your registration. When an opening becomes available at one of the state vaccination sites, you will receive an email that lets you schedule an appointment at one of these locations.
HOW ELSE CAN I GET AN APPOINTMENT?
After you register on the State website, residents should also check the state list of locations where appointments might be available. If an appointment is available, schedule yourself for that location and go get your vaccine. Here is the latest list of vaccine sites listed by the state, though the availability of doses may affect appointment times. COVID-19 Vaccine Locations for Eligible Recipients (nj.gov). Supplies may also fluctuate daily as the federal government sends more vaccines to states.
These Middlesex County sites are listed as vaccine locations but may have limited supplies or have no available appointments. These locations should be monitored daily to see availability.

LONG-TERM CARE RESIDENTS IN MONROE RECEIVED THEIR FIRST COVID-19 VACCINATIONS THIS WEEK; MTPD OFFICERS GUARD THEMSELVES AGAINST COVID-19
Parker at Monroe Resident and Council President Margaret Hollywood (pictured left), 66, and Brookdale Monroe resident Carol Schwartz (pictured center), 95, received their first COVID-19 vaccines. The NJ Department of Health, through CVS and Walgreens, is coordinating vaccinations at long-term care facilities across the state. Monroe Township Police Officers also began receiving their first vaccines this week after the state opened Phase 1A to police and fire professionals.
