Monroe Township Vaccination Rates Continue to Exceed State Averages
Office of Emergency Management Monitoring Booster Vaccine Guidance and Availability
MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – September 10, 2021 – According to the latest vaccination reports forwarded by Middlesex County from the State of New Jersey Department of Health for the week of September 1, Monroe Township’s vaccination rates once again exceeded state averages in every age category.
“Monroe Township vaccination rates have increased in every category since early August and our 65+ population has now reached 97% of the population with at least one dose complete. We’re trending in the right direction, but the Delta variant is spreading. We need every resident to get vaccinated and continue to follow guidance,” Mayor Stephen Dalina said. “Our Office of Emergency Management is closely following guidance and availability for booster vaccines. At this point, boosters are available for the immunocompromised. We will share any information regarding booster availability as it is received.”
The state report provides vaccination statistics for municipalities in each county according to the following population categories: 12 years and older, 18 years and older, 65 years and older and 80 years and older. Monroe Township vaccination rates saw a four percent increase since the August 23rd report in the 12+ category; a three percent increase in the 18+ categories and a two percent increase in the 65+ category.
