FIVE NEW COVID-19 CASES IN MONROE TOWNSHIP 590 NEW COVID-19 CASES IN NEW JERSEY NJ TOTAL IS NOW 1,914

Mayor Tamburro Implores: “Stay home except for essential trips.”

LATEST STATE/COUNTY UPDATES:  The latest statistics related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus from Governor Murphy’s office this afternoon includes 590 new positive test results in New Jersey for a statewide total of 1,914.  Middlesex County reports 31 new cases for a total of 147 positive cases. Monroe has just been notified of five new cases:  66-year-old male, 57-year-old male, 76-year-old female, 60-year-old female and 26-year-old female.  Monroe now has a total of twelve positive cases.  

 “Stay in, unless you absolutely need to go out.  Stay safe.  Stay smart. Stay compassionate to one another,” said Governor Murphy.

STATE EXPANDS TELEMEDICINE FOR RESIDENTS:  Late last week, the state passed legislation to expand telemedicine from home. Today, the NJ Department of Health stated that they will be announcing a telemedicine and telehealth plan through your health insurance and Medicaid providers to serve residents during the COVID-19 state of emergency. Contact your health insurance or health provider to continue your health and counseling care over the phone or by video at home. 

MENTAL HEALTH HELPLINE: The Governor’s Office announced today the availability of tele-mental health services from 8 am – 8 pm at 866-202-HELP (4357).  

RECYCLING SERVICES CONTINUE: Please be advised that recycling is currently continuing on its regular schedule.
