STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:  

  • As of 10:00 pm last night, there were 6,289 residents hospitalized for COVID-19.
  • 1,811 patients required critical or intensive care. 73 % are on ventilators.
  • 60 patients at one of the state’s Field Medical Stations
  • 216,221 tests performed, positivity rate is 42.16%.
  • 489 long-term care facilities in the state with COVID-19 cases; 18,045 COVID-19 cases in these facilities
  • Governor Murphy says, “We’ve now distributed more than 21 million pieces of PPE to our front-line essential workers.We’re sending 50 ventilators to Massachusetts, and we’re shipping 200,000 surgical masks to New York.”

CORONAVIRUS CASES BEING TREATED AT NJ HOSPITALS DROPS TO MONTH-LONG LOW:  The number of people hospitalized in New Jersey for the coronavirus shows a 15-day trend of declines as of Tuesday night, with 6,289 patients, the lowest amount since the state Department of Health started tracking the key measure of the outbreak earlier this month.  Read the full NJ.com article here.

GOVERNOR MURPHY ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER TO REOPEN STATE PARKS AND GOLF COURSES EFFECTIVE SATURDAY, MAY 2:  Governor Murphy today issued an Executive Order to reopen state parks and golf courses effective sunrise on Saturday, May 2.  State parks will be open for passive recreation only with accessories such as restrooms and playgrounds remaining closed.  Golf courses will have limiting regulations including requiring all clubhouses to remain closed.  Decisions relative to county park and municipal park openings will be reviewed following the release of the executive order. 

ANTIBODY TESTING & COVID-19 TESTING NOW AVAILABLE:  MyInstaDoc Monroe announced the availability of igG Antibody Testingin addition to COVID-19 Swab Testing at the facility located at 298 Applegarth Road.     

igG Antibody Blood Testing- Antibody testing will be conducted in-office by appointment.  Please call for an appointment at 609-207-3220.  Currently this test is being offered to health care workers, first responders and public servants who are symptom-free.  To be considered for this testing a patient must be free from all COVID-19 symptoms for a period of no less than 14 days. This service is being offered to symptom-free family members of those who were infected with COVID-19 and who have completed their period of quarantine.  This test will assess them for subclinical infection in the past.

COVID-19 Nasal Swab Testing:  This testing continues to be a drive-up test site, open TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAY. You must pre-register here to secure a drive-up appointment time. The facility will serve pre-registered COVID-19 testing patients only from 9am – 1pm and drive-up patients from 1pm – 3:30pm.
