MyInstaDoc ANNOUNCES ANTIBODY TESTING & COVID-19 TESTING NOW AVAILABLE IN MONROE TOWNSHIP:  MyInstaDoc Urgent Care has been offering Covid-19 PCR testing by nasal swab for over a month and served more than 1,800 people.

The physicians at MyInstaDoc Monroe announced the availability of igG Antibody Testing in addition to COVID-19 Swab Testing at the facility located at 298 Applegarth Road in Monroe Township.  The antibody testing using a reliable lab will show if a person has developed antibodies for COVID-19.   

igG Antibody Blood Testing- Antibody testing will be conducted in-office by appointment.  Please call for an appointment at 609-207-3220.  Currently this test is being offered to health care workers, first responders and public servants who are symptom-free.  To be considered for this testing a patient must be free from all COVID-19 symptoms for a period of no less than 14 days.  This service is being offered to symptom-free family members of those who were infected with COVID-19 and who have completed their period of quarantine.  This test will assess them for subclinical infection in the past.

COVID-19 Nasal Swab Testing:  This testing continues to be a drive-up test site, open TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAY. You must pre-register hereto secure a drive-up appointment time. The facility will serve pre-registered COVID-19 testing patients only from 9am – 1pm and drive-up patients from 1pm – 3:30pm.

UPDATED COVID-19 SYMPTOMS:  The CDC has updated its list of COVID-19 symptoms to chills, shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and a loss of taste or smell. Onset of symptoms usually occurs between 2 and 14 days after exposure.

MAYOR TAMBURRO TO EXTEND (2ndQUARTER) TAX PAYMENT GRACE PERIOD FROM MAY 11thTO JUNE 1st:  Thankfully, after much effort by the Mayor and Township, Governor Murphy Signed an Executive Order today, April 28th, allowing Municipalities the legal ability to extend the grace period for May 1st Property Tax Payments until June 1st.  

With this new authority, Mayor Tamburro will submit a resolution to the Council to extend the grace period from May 11thto June 1st.  It will be voted on at the May 4thCouncil Meeting.

 STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:  

  • As of 10:00 pm last night, there were 6,476 residents hospitalized for COVID-19. 488 new hospitalizations yesterday.
  • 1,809 patients required critical or intensive care. 1,262 ventilators were in use
  • 70% of ICU patients are on ventilators."That is the lowest we've seen since the beginning of April,” said NJ Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli.
  • 419 residents have been discharged from the hospital.Persichilli said hospitals in the central region reported Monday evening that their intensive care beds were totally full. She said of the six hospitals on divert last night, all but one were from the central region. 
  • 60 patients at one of the state’s Field Medical Stations
  • 210,043 tests performed, positivity rate is 42.6%.
  • 484 long-term care facilities in the state with COVID-19 cases; 17,201 COVID-19 cases in these facilities

ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL PLASMA DONOR COLLECTION:  On March 25, the Food and Drug Administration authorized compassionate use of convalescent plasma for patients infected with the coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 disease.  Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick will now start its own convalescent plasma donor collection program.  Click here for details.
