COVID-19 Cases received Wednesday, June 17:  New positive case 1:  66, male

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 1,268 patients being treated for COVID-19. Field medical stations reported 4 patients.
  • 73 new COVID-19 hospitalizations and 134 discharges yesterday.
  • 319 patients in either critical or intensive care; 81% on ventilators; 257 ventilators in use.
  • 35,484 COVID-19 cases at NJ long-term care facilities; 6,117 confirmed deaths.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from June 14 was 2.94%; transmission rate of 0.75.
  • “We continue to be far below where we were just two weeks ago, and significantly down from our peak,” said Governor Murphy. “We’ve put a premium on responsibly and methodically moving ourselves into our restart and recovery, unlike states which are now just reaching their peaks.”

6181INDOOR SHOPPING MALLS TO REOPEN ON JUNE 29:  Governor Murphy announced today that indoor shopping malls can reopen with restrictions on Monday, June 29.  All customers will be required to wear face coverings at all times while indoors.  Capacity will be limited to 50% and common areas such as communal seating and food courts must be closed.  Read the full NJ.com article here.
