TWO NEW COVID-19 POSITIVE CASES REPORTED IN MONROE TOWNSHIP ON THURSDAY

A FATHER’S DAY MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TAMBURRO:

Without question, this pandemic has changed our lives. It has made us all slow down. It has allowed us to pause and take stock of our lives, our health, and our homes. For once, work was on the back burner and our families became the priority.

In recent days, dads have been teaching 3rd grade math at the dining room table, playing catch in the backyard, and learning how to ZOOM from their kids. Dads have discovered a new appreciation for afternoon naptime, grocery shopping and the never-ending laundry basket.

This Sunday, we celebrate all the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and those special men who have stepped up in each of our lives. Thank you for being the helpers, teachers, coaches, and role models for our children. Thank you for being present, attentive, and engaged in your children’s lives. This, above all else, is what really matters.

As I reflect on more than fifty past Father’s Days, I remember most the laughter at our family dinner table, the long trips in the station wagon, the graduation celebrations, and the days that my children became parents themselves. These are the days that I recall as being extraordinary in my life.

Of course, none of this is possible without a great partner. Here’s to all the wonderful mothers who made us fathers.  Thank you for the greatest gifts in the world.

During my career, I have held many titles. Banker, councilman and now, mayor.  But there is no job more important or title I am prouder of than DAD.

God Bless you and your family and Happy Father's Day! ~ Jerry Tamburro
