STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 1,092 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 50 new COVID-19 hospitalizations and 48 discharges yesterday.
  • 307 patients in either critical or intensive care; 70% on ventilators; 216 ventilators in use.
  • 36,000 COVID-19 cases at NJ long-term care facilities; 6,248 confirmed deaths.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from June 19 was 1.96%; transmission rate of 0.81.
  • “Social distancing works,” said Governor Murphy. “There is absolutely no reason for our rate of transmission to begin to creep back up because people have become complacent in social distancing, or are crowding around bars and restaurants unmasked.”
  • “There is no vaccine for COVID-19. There is no cure and there is no proven therapy,” the governor said. “The only thing that works is not to get it.  ”

6233PLAYGROUNDS, OUTDOOR AMUSEMENT AND WATER PARKS MAY OPEN JULY 2:  Governor Murphy announced today that outdoor amusement parks (including boardwalk rides), outdoor water parks and playgrounds may reopen on Thursday, July 2.  Specific guidance is currently being finalized and will be forthcoming.
