New COVID-19 Cases from August 31 – September 3rd:  39M, 48F, 49M

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 270 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 99 patients in either critical or intensive care; 29 ventilators in use; 29% on ventilators.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from August 29 was 2.14%. Rate of transmission .96.
  • As of Tuesday, September 1, travelers to NJ from 33 states and territories are advised to observe a 14-day self-quarantine period. Visit Covid19.nj.gov for updates.

9032BOOKMOBILE IS BACK & EXPANDED LIBRARY HOURS:  The Bookmobile will be back on the road beginning Tuesday, September 8, making contactless deliveries. Requests must be made in advance to bookmobile@monroetwplilbrary.org. Include name, library card number, telephone number, location, book title and author in request.  All selections subject to availability - 10 item limit.  Expanding their in-person hours, Curbside Pickup Service hours also will begin September 8 as follows:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11 am – 4 pm and Tuesday and Thursday, 11 am – 7 pm.  Saturday hours will resume on September 12 when the library will be open 10 am – 4 pm.  Senior hours remain Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 9 am – 11 am.  Visit www.monroetwplibrary.org.

NEW EXERCISES CLASSES AT VETERAN’S PARK:  Registration is now open for two new, limited-time classes, Full Body Blast and Lower Body Blast! Classes will be held at Veteran's Park under the pavilion at 61 Avenue K. Space is limited – preregistration required. Adult Beginners Running Program also begins September 15 and will be held at Veteran’s Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:30pm.  Social distancing guidelines will be enforced for all programs. NJ RESTAURANTS ALLOWED TO OPEN FOR INDOOR DINING AT 25% CAPACITY TOMORROW:  NJ restaurants will be allowed to reopen indoor dining sections with restrictions beginning 6 AM tomorrow.  Visit undefined.
