MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY:  With COVID-19 cases rising throughout the state Governor Murphy advises, “We need to push these numbers back down.  Only you can do that.  Wear a mask.  Wash your hands.  Social distance.  We’re advising all New Jerseyans to avoid any unnecessary interstate travel given the recent increases in numbers both here and in neighboring states.” 

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals have 852 COVID-19 patients: (628 confirmed positive, 224 pending test results)
  • 187 patients in intensive care; 74 ventilators in use.
  • Statewide positivity rate for all tests recorded on October 18 was 5.28%. Rate of transmission 1.17.
  • As of Tuesday, October 20, travelers to NJ from 39 states and territories are advised to observe a 14-day self-quarantine period. Visit Covid19.nj.gov for updates.
