134 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND THREE DEATHS COMMUNITY-WIDE OVER SEVEN-DAY PERIOD

MESSAGE MAYOR STEPHEN M. DALINA

dalinaAs we all know firsthand, millions of New Jersey residents have been told they qualify for a vaccine, but little vaccine is available.  Reports indicate that several million people have pre-registered on waiting lists, yet New Jersey is scheduled to receive just 130,000 doses of vaccine for each of the next three weeks.  Clearly, we will all need to be patient as we wait for more vaccines to become available.

But I have little to no patience for the way the current state vaccination scheduling system is serving our residents.  Please know I am speaking out along with the Council, on behalf of residents to improve the system.  See my letter from yesterday. https://www.monroetwp.com/index.php/news/36-news-flash/936-coronavirus-community-update.

There is nothing more important to me than the effort to vaccinate our residents.

Sincerely, Mayor Dalina

STATE PROVIDES GUIDANCE ON GETTING SECOND VACCINE DOSE

The NJDOH provided the following guidance regarding second vaccine doses:

• If you made your first-dose appointment through the New Jersey Vaccine Scheduling System (NJVSS) at https://covidvaccine.nj.gov you will receive an email with the details of your automatically scheduled second-dose appointment by the end of day on Saturday, Jan. 30.
• If you received your first dose by booking directly with a vaccine clinic and did not use the NJVSS, you likely scheduled a second-dose appointment when you had your first appointment. If you did not receive a second-dose appointment at the time of receiving your first dose, you need to contact that vaccination site for assistance.
• If you received a first dose at the Gloucester County mega-site before the state scheduling system was available, you will be contacted directly by this site.
