MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY:"This is a war. This is the fight of our lives. Wars are not won with one person or one small group, they're won when millions of people come together in a common cause. Our cause right now is totally flattening the curve and then seeing it drop down the other side,” said Governor Murphy. “As we see the daily overall number of overall positive test results rise, we should also keep in mind that every day there are hundreds, if not thousands, of residents who had received a prior positive test result, who have now likely defeated the virus.”
STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:
- We’re continuing to do everything we can to prepare for the absolute worst,” said Governor Murphy. “We’ve increased hospital capacity statewide by 60%, set up three field medical stations with US Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters and had beds set aside for New Jerseyans on the United States Naval Ship Comfort.”
- 131,967 tests performed in NJ, positivity rate is 44.69%
- Since April 4th, 6,300 patients diagnosed with COVD-19 or persons under investigation for having COVID-19 have been discharged from the hospital.
- 709 coronavirus patients were discharged in NJ since yesterday’s report.
- As of 10 PM last night, 8,270 residents were reported hospitalized.1,980 of these individuals were listed in critical or intensive care and 1,705 of those individuals were on ventilators.39 patients are at one of the NJ field medical stations.
- 21% of hospitalized people with COVID-19 and persons under investigation for having COVID-19 are on ventilators. 86% of ICU patients are on ventilators.
- Of the 351 new deaths, 55 were residents of long-term care facilities.
- There 358 long-term care facilities reporting at least one COVID-19 case.
- 6,815 cases have been reported from long-term care facilities
PRIMARY ELECTION RESCHEDULED TO TUESDAY, JULY 7:
Governor Murphy adopted Executive Order 120 which rescheduled the 2020 Primary Election to July 7, 2020. Please click here for guidance from the Monroe Township Clerk’s Office regarding the rescheduled election and related procedures.
MONROE TESTING:

(SOUTH BRUNSWICK) New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Inspection Station, 2236 Route 130 North, Dayton
(EDISON) New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Kilmer Vehicle Inspection Center, 33 Kilmer Road, Edison: Saliva-Based Testing. Results provided within 24-48 hours.
The South Brunswick and Edison sites are open to Middlesex County residents by appointment from 10 am to 2 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

FACE COVERING AVAILABLE AT MONROE STOP & SHOP:
Workers and visitors in retail establishments are required by Executive Order from Governor Murphy to wear cloth face coverings while on the premises of any retail establishment. If a visitor refuses to wear a cloth face covering and if such covering cannot be provided by the business, then businesses must decline entry to the individual. Monroe Township OEM has issued over 2,000 pieces of PPE to the Monroe Stop & Shop. Please request your face covering at the Courtesy Desk if needed.
