COVID-19 Cases received Thursday, June 25: New positive case 1: 29, female
STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:
- NJ hospitals currently have 1,118 patients being treated for COVID-19.
- 59 new COVID-19 hospitalizations and 114 discharges yesterday.
- 234 patients in either critical or intensive care; 88% on ventilators; 206 ventilators in use.
- The daily spot positivity rate for tests from June 22 was 2.1%; transmission rate of 0.86.
- 2 new cases of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children; 47 cases total; no deaths.
- “We need to continue to be vigilant to ensure we don’t fall back,” said Governor Murphy.“Keep up with social distancing, wearing a face covering and taking personal responsibility.”
GUIDELINES FOR REOPENING NJ SCHOOLS RELEASED: The New Jersey Department of Education today announced new guidelines for reopening public schools for the 2020-2021 school year. “As we conclude the most unprecedented school year in the most unprecedented times, our focus turns to what will be an equally unprecedented start to the 2020-2021 school year,” said Governor Murphy.
