TROPICAL STORM ISAIAS CLEAN-UP CONTINUES

DPW crews are out canvasing the Township collecting debris resulting from Tropical Storm Isaias.  Residents may deposit yard debris only at the curb through Friday, August 14.  Debris may be loose or in bio-degradable bags. No plastic bags accepted.  Yard waste may be dropped off at the DPW yard at 76 Gravel Hill-Spotswood Road on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am - 2:45 pm. The yard also is open Saturday from 8 – 11:30 am.  Reminder:  No household food products.  These items should be discarded with regular trash collection.  Thanks to the DPW staff for a job well done!

One additional long-term care death reported today was from May 11. 

New COVID-19 Cases from August 7 – 10:  17M, 21F, 72F, 74M, 89F

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 284 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 83 patients in either critical or intensive care; 29 ventilators in use; 34% on ventilators.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from August 6 was 1.62%. Rate of transmission: .98

NJDOH DIRECTIVE LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES:  The NJ Department of Health will release a directive today setting mandatory benchmarks for NJ’s long-term care facilities.  This directive will establish phases for reopening based on time since a last outbreak and will establish: baseline infection-control measures, requirements for PPE stockpiling and requirements for resident and staff testing – including weekly coronavirus tests for all staff.
