Emergency Medical Services
FOR EMERGENCIES DIAL 9-1-1
The Monroe Township Municipal Ambulance Service (Monroe Township EMS) was established on February 11, 1991, to ensure the residents of Monroe Township receive the highest quality care possible. EMS is overseen by the Director of EMS who oversees a Deputy Director, Billing Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, 4 Supervisors, 24 Fulltime Emergency Medical Technicians, 50 Per-diem Emergency Medical Technicians. EMS responds to over 12,000 incidents per year, ranging from heart attacks and strokes to motor vehicle accidents and fires.
Every ambulance is staffed with two New Jersey Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) who are all trained to thoroughly assess for illness and injury, administer advanced first aid and bleeding control, CPR, oxygen therapy including CPAP and Rescue Breathing and well as compassionate and supporting care. Our EMTs are also trained to administer emergency medications such as Epinephrine, Naloxone, Aspirin and Glucose should you require immediate intervention.
Each shift is overseen by an on-duty supervisor who is available to respond with an ambulance or independently to establish prompt on scene care until one arrives. Our supervisors are trained in Mass Casualty Management and Incident Command as well as the same medical skills as our EMT staff.
