Freight Movement Study

Middlesex County has launched the Southern Middlesex County Freight Movement Study to identify strategies to safely manage freight movement while balancing the needs of all users of the roadway. Additional study goals include identifying and understanding:

• How and where trucks move along county roads
• Bottlenecks and barriers to freight movement
• Potential alternate truck routes to mitigate negative impacts
• Safety issues and crash clusters

The study will develop recommendations addressing safety, truck routing, air pollution and congestion, and impacts on vulnerable populations.
