Monroe Township Mayor Dalina Pledges Commitment to Health and Wellness; Launches ‘Mayor’s Wellness Campaign’

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J.  – APRIL 7, 2022 – Mayor Stephen Dalina announced today his commitment to enhancing and improving the health and wellness of Monroe Township resiMayorWelldents by signing the Mayors Wellness Campaign (MWC) Annual Pledge of Participation.

“Supporting the health and well-being of all Monroe residents is very important to me.  This initiative allows us all to enjoy some exercise while spending time with community members,” said Mayor Stephen Dalina.  “Cycling is a passion of mine so I thought a bike ride would be a great way to kick off our wellness campaign.”

As part of his wellness pledge, Mayor Dalina will work with the Township Health Advisory Board to develop and announce exercise related activities that residents can attend throughout the year. The first event will be held at 6pm on Friday, April 22 at Veteran’s Park located at 61 Avenue K.  Mayor Dalina invites all residents to join him and members of the Monroe Township Police Department for a bike ride through the local area.  Bicycle helmets will be required to participate.

“In keeping with our mission of addressing the health needs of our residents, the Health Advisory Board is excited by the opportunity to provide residents with options for maintaining and enhancing physical fitness in a safe environment,” said Council President and board liaison, Miriam Cohen, RN.

The Mayors Wellness Campaign is an initiative of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute (www.NJHCQI.org) in partnership with the New Jersey State League of Municipalities (www.njslom.org).  One of the goals of the MWC is to improve the overall health and wellness of New Jersey communities.
