ONE NEW COVID-19 POSITIVE CASE REPORTED COMMUNITY-WIDE IN MONROE TOWNSHIP ON THURSDAY

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:
- NJ hospitals currently have 1,933 patients being treated for COVID-19; Field Medical Stations reported 19 patients.
- 192 new hospitalizations and 204 discharges yesterday.
- 542 patients in critical/intensive care; 76% on ventilators; 410 ventilators currently in use.
- Number of residents in hospitals and those needing intensive care are both down 70% or more; Ventilator use is down nearly 75%; New hospitalizations are down nearly 90%.
- Daily positivity rate for tests from June 1 was 3.9% – from roughly 22,000 recorded samples
- Governor ordered public health emergency extended for an additional 30 days.
- Two new cases of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children reported, 37 cases total; no deaths reported; one child currently hospitalized.
GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES NJ MOTOR VEHICLE COMMISSION REOPENING SOON: Governor Murphy announced today that the state Motor Vehicle Commission will reopen its offices June 15, with “a variety of pick-up and drop-off services.” He added that the agency plans to begin conducting behind-the-wheel road tests and issuing new licenses and permits June 29. GREENBRIAR AT WITTIINGHAM POSTS BLUE RIBBONS TO SUPPORT
LOCAL HEROES: Residents and management at Greenbriar at Whittingham showed their support for local heroes. For a $5 donation, residents were provided with a blue ribbon to display on trees or mailboxes. The effort, sponsored by the GW Residents Civic Club, has delivered 600 blue ribbons that are displayed throughout the community. All proceeds will be donated to the Monroe Township EMS.
