COVID-19 Cases received Wednesday, July 1: New positive cases 3:
70, female; 58, female; 48, female
STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS:
- NJ hospitals currently have 1,027 patients being treated for COVID-19.
- 51 new COVID-19 hospitalizations and 83 discharges yesterday.
- 216 patients in either critical or intensive care; 79% on ventilators; 170 ventilators in use.
- The daily spot positivity rate for tests from June 28 was 2.95%; transmission rate of 0.87.
- 3 new reports of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children; 51 cases total; no deaths
- The Community Contact Tracing Corps has added more than 130 additional contact tracers since last week for a total of 357.
- “As you celebrate our nation’s independence this weekend, please remember: Use common sense. Keep your social distances. Wear a face covering. Wash your hands frequently,” said Governor Murphy.

LIMITS FOR OUTDOOR GATHERINGS INCREASING EFFECTIVE TOMORROW: Governor Murphy announced today that he will sign an Executive Order increasing the number of people allowed at outdoor gatherings from 250 to 500, effective Friday, July 3. Limits on all indoor gatherings – 25% of capacity, 100-person maximum – remain unchanged.
