New COVID-19 Cases from July 17 – 19:  35F, 58F, 61M, 63F, 95M

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 798 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 146 patients in either critical or intensive care; 72 ventilators in use; 49% on ventilators.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from July 16 was 2.8%. Rate of transmission: .90
  • The following states meet the 14-day travel quarantine criteria as of July 14: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin
  • Masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors where social distancing is not possible.

DOH LAUNCHES ELECTRONIC SURVEY FOR OUT-OF-STATE TRAVELERS ARRI7201VING AT NJ AIRPORTS:  The New Jersey Department of Health launched today an electronic survey to collect information on out-of-state travelers that arrive at NJ airports.  The survey is accessible by texting NJTRAVEL to 898211, visiting covid19.nj.gov/njtravel and scanning a QR code on airport posters.     

7202GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES HIGH-RISK SPORTS TO RESUME TODAY:  Governor Murphy will sign an executive order allowing contact drills, practices and competitions to resume today for high-risk sports.  Practices must be held at outdoor venues only.  All sports will have to abide by a number of health and safety protocols. HEAT WAVE TO BLANKET NJ FOR NEXT SEVERAL DAYS:  We’re in the midst of a heat wave that will7203 continue to impact the state for the next several days.  All residents are cautioned to stay properly hydrated, limit outdoor activities and check in with family and neighbors who may be vulnerable to the heat.  Please also remember that pets are vulnerable to heat and should be cared for accordingly.
