The two additional deaths reported today were from May 20. 

New COVID-19 Cases from July 20 – 23:  52M, 65M, 79F, 90F, 94F

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

  • NJ hospitals currently have 873 patients being treated for COVID-19.
  • 151 patients in either critical or intensive care; 77 ventilators in use; 50% on ventilators.
  • The daily spot positivity rate for tests from July 18 was 2.48%. Rate of transmission: .90
  • 2 new cases of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome reported; 55 total
  • The following states meet the 14-day travel quarantine criteria as of Tuesday, July 21: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin

7232NJ IS ONLY STATE IN US TO SEE COVID-19 CASES DROP FOR TWO WEEKS RUNNING:  In comparing the week of June 28-July 5 to the following week, July 5-12, just six states saw their number of new coronavirus cases drop. Likewise, in comparing July 5-12 to July 12-19, only nine states had a new caseload below that of the prior week.  The one state on both lists? LICENSED HEALTH CLUBS OPEN FOR INDIVIDUALIZED TRAINING ONLY:  Facilities that are 7231licensed health clubs can only open their indoor areas for one-on-one, individualized training.  Yoga and Pilates studios which are not licensed health clubs fall under the definition of “indoor recreation.”  They can only open to 25% of capacity, must observe social distancing and all participants and instructors must be masked.
