COVID-19 Cases received Tuesday, June 2:  New positive cases 6:

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

• NJ hospitals currently have 2,250 patients being treated for COVID-19; Field Medical Stations reported 21 patients.
• 107 new hospitalizations and 193 patients were discharged from the hospital yesterday.
• 612 patients in either critical or intensive care; 75% of critical care patients on ventilators; 459 ventilators currently in use – under 500 for the fifth consecutive day.
• The daily positivity rate for tests from May 30 was 4.28 percent – from roughly 31,000 recorded samples.
• “We cannot lose sight of what’s important – remaining vigilant and keeping up with our social distancing,” said Governor Murphy.
• 2 new cases of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children reported, 34 cases total; 6 are still hospitalized; no deaths reported; Ages of children affected range from 1-18.

COVID-19 Cases received Monday, June 1: 

New positive cases 3:  44, female; 37, male, 56, male

STATE AND NJDOH STATISTICS: 

• NJ hospitals currently have 2,372 patients being treated for COVID-19; Field Medical Stations reported 21 patients.
• 151 new hospitalizations and 102 patients were discharged from the hospital yesterday.
• 639 patients in either critical or intensive care; 72% of critical care patients on ventilators; 459 ventilators currently in use – under 500 for the fourth consecutive day.
• The daily positivity rate for tests from May 29 was 3.6 percent – from roughly 29,000 recorded samples.
• The rate by which COVID-19 spread across NJ through each infected person had dropped from 5:1 in March to 1:1 today Governor Murphy announced. “Social distancing works. Wearing a face covering works,” he said.
• According to the NJDOH, symptoms of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children are: fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, neck pain, rash, bloodshot eyes.

OUTDOOR DINING, STORES TO REOPEN ON JUNE 15; PERSONAL CARE SERVICES TO REOPEN ON JUNE 22.  GYMS NEXT - NO DATE SET: Governor Murphy announced today that outdoor dining and non-essential retail stores in New Jersey will reopen, with restrictions, on June 15, followed by salons as the state enters “Stage 2” of its recovery.  The reopening for personal care services, such as hair salons and barbershops, is planned for June 22.
