Monroe Township Takes First Step in Master Plan Park Expansion with Four New Volleyball Courts at Two Municipal Parks

Township Awarded $76,000 State Grant for Local Recreation Improvement

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – July 17, 2023 – As a first step in the Monroe Township Master Plan Parks Expansion multi-year program, the municipality has announced that it is moving forward with construction of four (4) new volleyball courts at two (2) municipal parks.

Monroe Township Council authorized by resolution at its regular meeting on Monday, June 26, an award of bid to D’Avellino Construction Inc. for “various park improvements at Veterans and Patriots Parks Project.”

MONROE TOWNSHIP – July 07, 2023 – Mayor Stephen Dalina is expressing his appreciation to Monroe’s legislative delegation for their strong financial support related to the recently-adopted fiscal ’24 state budget.

The earmarks to Monroe include $2.5 million for ongoing open space acquisition. “

The Township will use the funding toward acquiring targeted open space parcels to prevent development,” Mayor Dalina said. “Through the support of the fiscal ’24 state budget, we can ensure open space parcels are saved.”

Bill Would Provide Property Tax Credit up to $10K to NJ Seniors

MONROE TOWNSHIP – June 9, 2023 – Monroe Township Mayor Stephen Dalina traveled to Trenton to testify before the NJ Assembly’s Aging and Senior Services Committee on Thursday, June 7 in support of Speaker Craig Coughlin’s “StayNJ” plan to give back 50% of local property tax bills up to $10,000 for New Jerseyans over age 65. If passed, the bill would take effect in January 2025.

Monroe Township Awarded $118,000 Clean Communities Grant from DEP

Township to Receive a $12,800 Increase for 2023

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – May 18, 2023 – Monroe Township today announced that it is the recipient of a $118,040 Clean Communities grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) Solid Waste Division.

Clean Communities grants are intended to help municipalities and counties across New Jersey promote volunteer and paid clean-up events, purchase equipment, support enforcement activities and educational opportunities.
