Monroe Taxpayers Receive $700K in Green Energy Grants for Energy Efficiency

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – January 23, 2023 – Monroe Township is taking advantage of incentive programs to “go green,” while addressing capital improvement needs at the Monroe Community Center and the Monroe Senior Center.

“The Community Center and Senior Center are two of the most popular facilities in our Township, so it is important that we maintain energy-efficient climate control within the buildings throughout the year,” said Mayor Stephen Dalina. “We are thankful for New Jersey Clean Energy programs like JCP&L’s Direct Install and PSE&G’ Clean Energy Future that allow us to make these capital improvements as budget-friendly as possible.”

Monroe Township Earns Prestigious Silver Certification from Sustainable Jersey

MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – December 14, 2022 – Sustainable Jersey representatives announced that Monroe Township has met the rigorous requirements to achieve Sustainable Jersey certification at the silver level. Monroe Township is one of only 81 municipalities in New Jersey that have attained this certification in 2022. Sustainable Jersey's participating communities represent over 82% of the state's municipalities.

“Monroe Township has been at the forefront of municipal ‘Going Green’ initiatives for many years thanks to the passion and dedication of our Green Team in partnership with our Environmental Commission who help turn the Township’s commitment to sustainability into action,” said Mayor Stephen Dalina. “It’s thanks to programs such as Sustainable Jersey and volunteers like Karen Polidoro and Renee Haider who co-chair our Environmental Commission that Monroe Township can continue to expand our green initiatives.”

MONROE TOWNSHIP – December 11, 2022 – In an effort to get even more community members involved in Monroe Township government, Mayor Stephen Dalina and the Township Council are encouraging residents to apply for current and future openings on municipal boards, commissions and advisory councils.
