LATEST STATE/COUNTY UPDATES:  The latest statistics related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus from Governor Murphy’s office this afternoon includes 3,649 new positive test results in New Jersey for a statewide total of 22,255.  There are 91 new reported deaths for a total of 355. Middlesex County reports 216 new cases for a total of 1,493 positive cases.  Monroe Township has been notified of 15 new cases today, of which four patients are in the hospital and the remainder are recovering in self-quarantine at home.  Monroe now has a total of 105 positive cases.  The new cases are:

MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TAMBURRO:  

“With 31 new cases over the last two days, the fight comes down to us.  Monroe residents.  Each one of us.”, said Mayor Tamburro. “As the virus surges in New York and North Jersey, we each have a role to play to save lives.     

Again, our role is to stay home to social distance, wash your hands and slow this virus.  We must give our hospitals and medical professionals the time needed to increase ICU beds, ventilators and equipment.  If we stay home, we save more lives. 

I know we are all scared.  Its normal to feel that way now.  But I know we can do this. Right now, nothing is more important than staying home and slowing this spread.” 

LATEST STATE/COUNTY UPDATES:  The latest statistics related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus from Governor Murphy’s office this afternoon includes 2,196 new positive test results in New Jersey for a statewide total of 18,696.  There are 69 new reported deaths for a total of 267. Middlesex Countyreports 154 new cases for a total of 1,277 positive cases.  Monroe Township has been notified of 16 new cases, of which five patients are in the hospital and the remainder are self-quarantined at home. Monroe now has a total of 90 positive cases.  The new cases are:

REPORTING & CONTACT TRACING REMINDER:  All COVID-19 positive cases are reported to the Middlesex County Health Department by the appropriate authority.  The County Health Department, in turn, is responsible for the contact tracing investigation and making notifications to those who may have been exposed as soon as possible.  

The COVID-19 drive-thru testing facility, MyInstaDoc, located at 298 Applegarth Road reports testing more than 600 patients in Monroe since testing began on Friday, March 20. 

LATEST STATE/COUNTY UPDATES:  The latest statistics related to the COVID-19 Coronavirus from Governor Murphy’s office this afternoon includes 3,347 new positive test results in New Jersey for a statewide total of 16,636.  There are 37 new reported deaths for a total of 198. Middlesex County reports 185 new cases for a total of 1,123 positive cases.  Monroe Township has been notified of 7 new cases, of which one patient is in the hospital and the remainder are self-quarantined at home. Monroe now has a total of 74 positive cases.  The new cases are:

MESSAGE FROM MAYOR TAMBURRO:  “It is truly remarkable to see our doctors, nurses, medical workers, and all the essential employees fighting to keep people alive and protect each of us.  We owe them a great deal and we need to help take the pressure off them by staying home.

I know 7 new Covid-19 cases is lower than the 28 total cases this weekend, but make no mistake, we are in the fight of our lives. 

Many of us have seen tough times in our life.  Many of us have overcome odds.  I know staying at home and away from our friends and family is hard – its counter-intuitive to who we are as humans.  I know firsthand how hard it is to be home alone.  I implore you to pick up the phone and call someone---talk.  They want to hear from you, and it will help you a lot.

But we must stay home. We can do this no matter how it longs lasts.”
