LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES CONCERNS: The Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the conditions at the state-licensed, long-term care facilities in the township. Mayor Tamburro has written to State Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli expressing his concern over the spread of the virus in the facilities and asked for their support and intervention to keep the residents and staff safe. “I continue to be concerned that our most vulnerable residents are protected and that their families are informed daily,” said Mayor Tamburro. “We remain in constant contact with the county health department staff, who has visited several facilities to insure they are following proper safety protocols.”
Earlier today, Commissioner Persichilli announced that 71 of the new deaths announced this morning were in long-term care facilities and that there is at least one positive case in 285 different long-term care facilities in NJ.
