Primary Election Rescheduled to Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Governor Murphy adopted Executive Order 120 which rescheduled the 2020 Primary Election to July 7, 2020. This notice is to advise you that your location needs to be available and open for the Primary Election as follows:

Just a reminder that your facility must be accessible to the Poll Workers no later than 5:15 a.m. and to have the appropriate number of tables and chairs set up in the room being used for voting.

As indicated previously, by copy of my letter dated Februart 4, 2020, as an approved and designated polling place, there is legislation that specifically states "Neither the owner nor operator of any facility designated as a polling place can change the polling room without the express prior approval of the County Board of Elections".

Poll Workers are required to be at their designated polling site no later than 5:15 a.m. in order to prepare for the opening of the polls promptly at 6:00 a.m. It is mandatory that the polls open on time, so it is crucial that custodians and security gate personnel be made aware so that the polling place is accessible to the Poll Clerks no later than 5:15 a.m.

As you are well aware during these uncertain times information changes frequently, I will make every effort to keep you informed of any other changes that may come before us.

Thank you for your continues support and assistance during election time.

Sincerely,

Patricia Reid, RMC/CMR

Monroe Township Clerk
