As we near the end of the fourth month of the coronavirus pandemic, I’m pleased to see a steady decline in key indicators here in Monroe Township and across New Jersey.
At the same time, I want to remind everyone that this is the result of a concerted effort by our entire community to take the necessary precautions in our collective best interests.
Monroe has reported 763 known COVID-19 positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic. At the peak of the pandemic, from April 20 through 27, we reported 141 new positive cases or 17.6 cases per day. In comparison, from June 22 through June 29, we reported 8 new cases or approximately 1 case per day. This is a clear illustration that our efforts are working.
We have come so far but we are far from finished with this dangerous virus and we must continue to wear masks, socially distance, wash hands, get tested and stay home if you are ill. Thank you for all of your hard work and diligence.
WE ARE MONROE AND WE ARE GETTING THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!
